SAP has recently added 15 new features to its SAP IBP 2111 release.
In this blog, you get a sneak preview of these 15 new features that give teeth to SAP IBP to perform better and empower the users to take incisive action than before! And, you can also read our earlier blog titled – 10 Top New Features in SAP IBP 2108 Release – A Sneak Peek.
New Application Job: Purge Scenarios
Administrators can now delete multiple scenarios at a time using the new Purge Scenarios application job to control the amount of scenario data in the system. In addition, they can delete scenarios that are older than or that haven’t been changed than – a specified number of days.
Incorporation of SAP IBP with Financial Planning in SAP Analytics Cloud
This feature incorporates Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) in SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP) and Sales & Profitability Planning of Financial Planning in SAP Analytics Cloud for SAP S/4HANA. It assists planners to respond in real-time to changes, evaluate the potential impact of these changes, and align better with each other.
Standard Deviation
For a given key figure, users can now utilize the STDDEV aggregation to calculate the standard deviation. Typically, a STDDEV function helps measure the dispersion of a sample dataset relative to its mean. It is calculated as the square root of variance by determining each data point’s deviation from the mean. The STDDEV aggregation works on a sample data set, similarly to the STDEV.S function in Microsoft Excel. It can collect data in any dimension, and is also be used at the REQUEST level.
Partial Merge of Planning Areas
This new partial merge function aids users to merge selected content from a sample or custom planning area into another planning area. It also allows the user to specify the master data attributes and key figures of the source configuration that one wants to include in the merge and make detailed settings to control the merge behavior. Even if planning areas are based on different sets of master data types, users can utilize this function to partially merge them.
Enhancement of Model for New Footprint Analysis
Users can now monitor & evaluate greenhouse gas emissions based on the supply plan. To measure the footprint the production receipts of the long-term production plan multiplied by the footprint of the product/location are used.
Sorting of Attribute Values by Description
Earlier, using ID-description linking, users could only sort attribute values based on their IDs. As of SAP IBP, an add-in for Microsoft Excel version 2111.2.0, users can now sort attribute values based on their descriptions if ID-description linkage is used.
Variable Impact Analysis by the Gradient Boosting Algorithm
Users can now set the gradient boosting of decision trees algorithm in the Manage Forecast Models app to calculate the impact of each selected independent variable on the forecast and optionally, the ex-post forecast. Users can run the analysis of both categorical and non-categorical variables. This helps users to compare the quantities, using promotion and the outside temperature, each affected the forecast calculated for a planning object in a certain period.
Direct Access to Manual Forecasting for New Products
From the Manual Forecasting tile on the SAP Fiori launchpad, users can directly access the manual forecasting features for new products. Identical features are still available in the Manage Product Lifecycle app but the new tile gives users quicker and more focused access to the manual forecasting parameters.
Improved Heuristic: Time-Series-Based Shelf-Life Distribution Planning
The current time-series-based shelf-life distribution planning heuristic calculates a supply plan for the distribution network, while also taking into account the shelf-life of products. It distributes only available supply with the required shelf-life downstream through the supply chain.
The time-series-based shelf-life distribution planning heuristic begins with existing stock (stock on hand quantities) and adjusted production receipts to plan how best to distribute customer and transport receipts (stock transfers) for the whole distribution network, from production plant/distribution center to customer products. It also takes into account the minimum shelf-life of consensus and independent demands and the remaining shelf life of stock on hand quantities and production receipts.
The shelf-life distribution planning heuristic is distinct from the time-series-based shelf-life planning heuristic in that it only distributes the available, limited supply downstream through the supply chain, and may not fulfill all demands. If there is insufficient supply, it only plans this supply as customer & transport receipts. The resultant supply plan takes shelf-life into account to show the impact of any supply problem, apprising which demands, customers, and location products won’t be met.
Finite Heuristic Supports Location Product Substitution
The time-series-based supply planning finite heuristic now supports location product substitution, which empowers the user to easily satisfy the demand for a leading location product with the supply of substitute product from another location, and also vice versa. In certain circumstances allows mutual substitution, especially when discontinuing a product, or for product promotion.
OB: Material (Number) will Become Product (ID)
To co-ordinate the terminology across SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP), order-based planning (OBP) will use “product” and “product ID” instead of “material” and “material #” from the following release onwards.
Grouping for K-Means in ABC Segmentation
Users can now set the system in the Manage ABC/XYZ Segmentation Rules app to use grouping while applying the K-means segmentation method. Previously, users could only use grouping when another segmentation method was selected.
Enhancements to Machine Learning for Master Data Consistency
These improvements allow the user to use machine learning for master data consistency features with numerical master data type attributes.
Integrating with Planning – LBN to see Document Details in Intelligent Visibility
Using the required setup allows users to select an order in the Intelligent Visibility app in SAP IBP and view the freight order & freight booking information and thus navigate to the corresponding documents in Freight Collaboration or Global Track & Trace to view details about the freight execution.
Enhancements to Analytics – Advanced
Users can now view multiple key figure threshold range names and their respective values in the legend for their analytics charts when the threshold ranges are enabled. This feature helps users quickly identify a specific key figure threshold value on their chart.
